Bruce R. Bergendahl

Bruce R. Bergendahl, 84, long time resident of the Rosedale/Gladstone Park area of Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor C. Bergendahl, nee Rein. Loving father of Karen Bergendahl, David Bergendahl and Janet (Reino) Salmi. Proud grandfather of David, Melissa, Jessica, Elizabeth, Sarah and Nathaniel.

Bruce's true passion was for scouting. As a young boy he joined the Explorers. Later in life he was the Scout Master of Cub Scout pack #3874 and the Boy Scout Leader of Troop #874. When the neighborhood troop grew smaller, he gathered the remaining boys and joined Troop #979 where he assisted with that troop for many years.

Visitation Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., from 5-9 pm. Funeral Friday 10 am at the funeral home. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery.
