Giacomuzzi; proud grandfather of Mara, Amanda, Ariel, Lucas, Matthew, Kyle, Ryan,
Markus, Molly, Shannon, Sabrina, Noelle and Jessica; great grandfather of Ava,
Londyn and Jaxon. Bruno is preceded in death by his wife Elsy A Giacomuzzi, brothers
Willie, Peter, Paul, Olivio, sisters Iris and Huldy, survived by brothers Alvin and Guido
Giacomuzzi all of Switzerland.
Born in Kaltbrunn, a Canton of St. Gallen Switzerland, Bruno was a baker,
confectioner and pastry chef by trade having learned his craft in St. Gallen,
Switzerland. He also worked in Rome, Italy for a period of time. He arrived in
Chicago in 1956, worked for a Swiss baker and settled to raise his family. He was a
loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He
was known throughout the neighborhood as the “chocolate man” for the chocolate
Easter creations he made for so many years.
A man with a deep devotion to his Catholic faith, his soul now walks forever with our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With peace in our hearts, we know that he has been re-
united with Elsy who was the love of his life.
Family and friends gathering at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church on
October 28, 2023, 7211 W. Talcott (at Harlem), Chicago, until time of the Memorial
Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to be held in private. In lieu of flowers, donations to
Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Ascension Rainbow Hospice or the American
Red Cross can be made.
