Janet Fender

Janet Fender nee Putz, 91, of Chicago, peacefully passed away on December 21, 2023 at Rosary Hill Home in Justice, IL. Formerly of Lisle, Janet spent her final years amongst her family and extended family at Rosary Hill.

Janet was born in Chicago to John and Leopoldine Putz (Berzkovitz) on September 22, 1932. Janet is preceded in death by her husband George Fender, parents, brother John and sister Helen.
Janet was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her children Barbara Gorkis, Steven (Kathy) Gorkis and Frank (Kathleen) Gorkis. Stepsons Jeff (Katherine) Fender and Todd (Gabrielle) Fender. Grandchildren Matt, Kevin, Colleen, Brendan, Ian, Ryan, and great-granddaughter Emma. Step-grandchildren Bradley, Brandon, Ashley, Victoria, Benjamin, and Nathaniel Fender. Siblings Lillian Beck, Dorothy (Joe) Chickerillo, and Richard (Jackie) Putz. Many nieces and nephews.

An active mother and grandmother, Janet loved to quilt, play the piano, walk at the Morton Arboretum, and make wonderful Holiday crafts. Be it bowling, golfing, sledding, or riding roller coasters, she loved spending active time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation Thursday, December 28th, 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 am at Rosary Hill Home Chapel 9000 W 81st Street Justice, IL.
