James E. Furlong, 61, at peace, June 17, 2026. Beloved husband of Kathy nee Bordes for 42 loving years. Loving father of Patrick, CFD (Lauren), Megan (Brendan) Dietz, Kevin, and late baby Danny. Proud grandpa of Michael, Sarah, Conor, and Emily; Molly, Evelyn, and Lucy. Dear brother of Marty, retired CFD (Lisa) and the late Daniel T. Furlong. Son of the late Judith nee Sweeney and the late James Furlong, CFD. Son-in-law of Nellie and the late Ken and the late Mary Bordes. Dear brother-in-law to the Bordes family. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and friend of many.

He loved his family fiercely, never missed a chance to lend a hand and believed there were never  problems, only solutions. Life could always be made a little better with a cold one, a good laugh, and a famous one liner. Though our hearts are heavy, we smile knowing he would want us to remember the laughter as much as the tears.

Memorial Visitation 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday June 25, 2026, at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Heneghan-Suerth Directors, 6250 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Family and friends gathering Friday at 10:15 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Cremation private.
