Joan Celeste Bissing, nee O’Hara, 85, at peace with Christ July 2, 2023. Beloved wife of the late John J. Bissing. Loving mother of Maureen (Peter) Bergan, Joan Marie (Ben) Schmidt, Katherine (Peter) Scozzafave and Mary Pauline Bissing. Loving grandma of Emily, John, Patrick, Daniel, and Kiera. Dear sister of the late Anne (Roger) Leonard, the late Jack (Betty) O’Hara, the late James (Helen Marie) O’Hara, the late Eileen (Ted) Hans, the late Kaye (Jim) McCormack. Adored aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. A dear friend of many.
A longtime resident of Edison Park and dedicated parishioner of St Juliana Parish. Joan loved working for Ferree-Florsheim and Food For Thought in the catering industry for many years.
Visitation Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 3 until 8 pm at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N Northwest Hwy., Chicago. Funeral Monday, 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home to St Juliana Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
