Kurt J. Steffen, of Chicago, passed away at the age of 47. Kurt was loved by family and friends for his huge heart, his sense of humor, and his care and compassion.
Beloved son of the late Bonnie Steffen nee Pinkelman. He is survived by his father Dennis (Denice) Steffen, as well as his brothers Kent (Kate) and Todd (Melody). Kurt was a beloved uncle to Kyle (Emma), Brendan, Grace, Charlie, Julia, Ellie, and Ben, and a loving cousin, nephew, and friend to many. Kurt attended St. Juliana Elementary School and Notre Dame College Prep, and then moved on to earn the distinction of an Evans Scholar at Northern Illinois University.
Kurt was known for his adventurous world travels and his undying love of live music and fine wine, and as a longtime season ticket holder of our beloved Chicago Cubs. Kurt also thrived in his career as a software global account management expert, leading teams of software specialists across the globe.
Although he left us far too soon, his legacy is truly everlasting.
Visitation Monday June 16, 2025 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, Heneghan-Suerth Directors, 8025 Golf Rd., Niles. Funeral Tuesday 9:15 a.m. prayers at the funeral home to St. Juliana Church. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
