Margaret Mary Callaghan

Margaret Mary Kelly was born on August 9, 1941, in Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland. The youngest child of Nora and Edward Kelly, Margaret was very close to her siblings; Frank (Mary), the eldest, who remained in Ireland to run the family farm, Thomas (Eileen) who moved to Chicago, as did Sister Bridie, O.S.M., Kathleen Shanley (Jack), Mary Duggan (Bill), and Noreen Doherty (John). Margaret joined the family in Chicago, where she met and married her beloved John, who adored her. She was the loving mother of John (Michelle), and Lance (Shawndra); doting grandmother of Ryan, Katie and Cain.  Margaret practiced her deep faith as an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church community for 55 years as a Eucharistic minister and volunteer at the Women's Center. She cherished time spent with her close relatives, Fr. Jack Joyce, OMI, Pete and Bobbi, Gerry and Ila, and Joe and Irma. Margaret relished family gatherings and was close to her nieces and nephews. Her wry wit and grace will be missed and remembered with love. Funeral Saturday, February 4, family and friends gathering at St. Robert Bellarmine Church 4646 North Austin Avenue, Chicago IL, 60630 at 10:00 am until time of funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Entombment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, DesPlaines, IL. . Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls @mercyhome.org.
