Margaret Casey (nee Dunleavy), native of Doobhea, Moygownagh, County Mayo, Ireland peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, November 20, 2021, with family at her side. Margaret was the beloved wife and is happily reunited with her dear late husband, William (Bill) Casey. She was the cherished mother of Margaret (Michael) Tower, William (Amy) Casey and Katie Casey; loving grandmother to Michael (Aimee), Brian, Jack (Isabel), Christopher Tower, Hannah and Sarah Casey all of whom she spoiled with her love and great baking. Margaret is also the beloved great grandmother to James Tower.
She is survived by her sisters Anne (late Richard) Nyquist, Josephine (Steve) Venci and was preceded in death by John, Michael (Evelyn), PJ (Judy) Dunleavy, Mary (Patrick) Sweeney, Bridie (Patrick) O'Malley and her parents Michael and Margaret (Carolan) Dunleavy. Margaret was the fun aunt to many nieces and nephews and close friend to her sister and brother in-laws.
She, along with Bill, was an active member of the Shamrock American Club and served as a Eucharistic minister for over 30 years at St. Juliana Church. Margaret worked for many years as an instructor at St. Mary of Providence, a school for those with developmental disabilities.
Visitation is Tuesday November 23rd, 4-8 pm and Wednesday from 9 am until time of prayers at 9:30am at M J Suerth Funeral Home / Peter Heneghan, director, 6754 N Northwest Hwy, Chicago. Mass will be celebrated at St. Juliana Catholic Church in Chicago at 10 am on Wednesday November 24th.
