Margaret Mary Peck

Margaret-Mary "Mimi" Peck passed away at home on January 27, 2026. She was born on November 17, 1949, the youngest child and only daughter of Howard and Mary (Millan) Peck.

A lifelong resident of the Edison Park neighborhood, Mimi lived in her childhood home her entire life. She was especially close to her father, Howard, whom she considered her lifelong best friend. A devoted caregiver to both of her parents, she lovingly cared for them throughout their lives. One of her favorite memories was surprising her parents with a trip to England and Scotland in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Together, the three of them enjoyed exploring the homelands they had heard so much about from previous generations of their family.

Mimi graduated from Taft High School and Northeastern University. After college, she worked as a driving instructor and later built a career with Connell and Company. At Connell and Company, Mimi found not only colleagues but lifelong friends in Maria and Marsha. Together, the trio became known as "The Three Musketeers"—or, as coworkers fondly called them, the "Connollettes."

Those who knew Mimi knew how much she loved dogs. Over the years, her beloved companions Puddles, Tag, and Chase brought her great joy, and she took exceptional care of each of them. She never missed an opportunity to talk about dogs and was always eager to hear stories about other people's pets as well. She also enjoyed her daily Dunkin' Donuts coffee and was a devoted shopper at L.L. Bean, her favorite store.

A loving sister and aunt, Mimi never missed a birthday. Family members could always count on receiving a card from her—usually a funny one—and her brothers could expect a playful reminder that she was the younger sibling. She loved talking on the phone and faithfully caught up with her brother Bruce and sister-in-law Carol every Friday afternoon during what became known simply as "the Friday Call." Whenever family gathered, the phone was inevitably passed from person to person, as everyone wanted a chance to talk with Mimi and hear her cheerful greeting: “Well, hello!”

Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Peck; her brother, Wesley Peck; and her cherished nephew, Jason Peck.

She is survived by her brother Bruce (Carol) Peck; sister-in-law Kathy Peck; nephew and nieces Jeff (Michelle) Peck, Courtney (Ron) Thompson, Susie Peck, and Gloriane (Jeremy) Schmidt; great-niece and great-nephews Gracie Thompson, Alex and Caleb Peck, and Daniel Schmidt; dear friends Maria Nee and Marsha Gonzalez; and neighbors Jim and Kathy Flynn, whose friendship and nearby presence meant so much to her.

Family and friends will gather on June 18 to celebrate Mimi's life, share stories, and remember the many ways she touched their lives. She will be laid to rest beside her parents and beloved dogs.
