Marilyn R (Jones) Hansen

Marilyn R. Hansen, nee Jones, 91, is at peace with Christ after passing on September 21, 2025 in Arlington Heights, IL. Formerly of Mt. Prospect and Park Ridge, Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late John E. Hansen. She was a loving daughter to her late parents, Minnie, nee Kunke, and Herbert Jones, and she was a cherished sister and sister-in-law of the late Leroy and Gertrude Jones. She was a proud aunt of Matthew, Gregory, and the late Christopher Jones, PhD. She was a devoted great-aunt to Jamie (Noah) Springer, and she enjoyed being a great-great aunt to their young son, Leif. 

Marilyn’s grandfather, Julius Kunke, was one of the founding members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, and she remained dedicated to the Lutheran church until her final days. In addition to her long bookkeeping career, Marilyn was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, and for many years, she helped with St. Paul’s extended care program at St. Paul Lutheran School. She had recently moved into the Lutheran Home, and she enjoyed reconnecting with childhood friends and socializing with new ones. In addition to her service, Marilyn enjoyed boating and travelling with her late husband and family. She, too, was an avid bowler and golfer. Marilyn is greatly missed, but “in His light, we find comfort.” May her legacy of service live on.

Visitation Saturday October 4, 2025, 8:30 a.m. until time of service 9:30 a.m. at  Lutheran Home 800 W. Oakton St., Arlington Heights. Interment Town of Maine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Paul Lutheran Church 100 S. School St. Mt Prospect, IL 60056 saint-paul.org
