Raymond (Ray) A. Grish, Jr., 67, of Des Plaines formerly of Edison Park passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2019 at Evanston Hospital. Born on October 11, 1951 in Chicago to Cecilia Anne and Raymond A. Grish Sr.

A proud alum of Notre Dame High School in Niles, Class of 1969. Ray held many jobs in many industries throughout his life: insurance, automotive, and banking, but his true passion was Vintage Base Ball. Ray "Never Wrong" spent nearly 20 years with his kids barnstorming throughout the Midwest as the beloved umpire for Chicago Salmon Vintage Base Ball Club of Chicago. Ray also loved fishing and traveling, his favorite destinations being Mexico, Florida and Costa Rica. A Craftsman and wood-worker, Ray loved to make household furniture and crafts. He ended his working career crafting personalized pool cues in Palatine.

He is survived by his dear wife Susan Baird Grish and loving children Kevin and Madelyn Grish. His brothers Fred Grish , Jim Grish, Bob Grish, Tim Grish, his sister Theresa Heneghan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kenny and Joe.

 A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy. Chicago from 4-9 pm. Family and friends will be gathering Friday, May 10, 2019 11:15 am at St. Juliana Church, 7201 N. Oketo (at Touhy) . A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am.
