Robert Charles Larocco, 81, at peace with Christ on July 13, 2024.
From the age of eight until high school, Bob sang with the Paulist Choir in downtown Chicago. He graduated from Notre Dame HS and Loyola University with a major in Statistics and worked for Nielsen for 40 plus years. Bob volunteered once a week at Children's Memorial Hospital for 35 years. The Oak Park Ski Club was his outlet not only for skiing but also volleyball, camping, and pizza nights. Bob was a member of the Chicago Botanic Garden for many years. As an avid gardener he specialized in growing delicious tomatoes, sharing them with friends and family. Garden shops, library sales, and rummage sales were often Saturday morning outings. Many hours were spent reading sci-fi and mysteries while listening to classical music. A lifetime resident of Chicago, Bob enjoyed showing visitors the parks, museums, skyline, and lakeshore. He was generous and loving to his family including 12 nieces and nephews, and because he attended sporting events, plays, and recitals of his 12 great nieces and nephews, he was Uncle Bob to many. He attended daily Mass at St. Juliana Church and was a lector several times a week.
Memorial visitation on Saturday August 24, 2024, at St. Juliana Church 7201 N. Oketo Ave.(at Touhy), Chicago, 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment private at Maryhill Cemetery.
